What was your favorite sport (as a kid)? Volleyball
Who is your favorite superhero? Spiderman
What is your favorite movie about sports? The Blind Side
What is your favorite sports quote? “It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up.” -Vince Lombardi
What one word describes you? Enthusiastic!
What do you like about coaching? I love seeing the excitement of each athlete as they reach a goal that they have been working to reach.
Do you think playing sports helps make you a better person? Definitely! Sports not only establishes the value of teamwork, but also hard work. Playing sports has helped me develop mental toughness and the ability to push beyond what I thought I was capable of. I’ve been able to use the skills I learned on the court outside of the court every day!
Did you ever feel nervous before a game? Always! It was always a combination of nervousness and excitement, especially when there were lots of people in the crowd! It all went away after the first serve, though, when I could just focus on the ball and the play!
What age were you when you started your sport? I started playing several sports at 4 years old, and I began playing volleyball at 12. I played soccer and basketball, danced, did gymnastics, ran track, all before even touching a volleyball. Once I got older, I scaled down to focus on volleyball and high jumping, which were my two favorites!
