Frequently Asked Questions & Terms and Conditions

How long are the classes?
Classes are typically 45 minutes long but some run 20, 30, and 60 minutes.
Are there any make-up classes in case of cancellations due to inclement weather?
All sessions last for 8-10 weeks and always include an extra week or so for make-ups at the end of the sessions.
What are the fees?
20 minute class is $20
30 minute class is $25
45 minute class is $30
How many classes are there in a season?
There are 8-10 classes per season with the exception of summer when we offer a 5-week season.
When does a season start?
Spring – first week in April
Summer – first week in July (6 weeks)
Fall – first week in September
Winter – first week in January (sometimes earlier depending on the location)
Can we get a refund before the starting date?
Refunds will be issued upon request after the start of the first class. No refunds after 30 days from date of first class. Refunds will be mailed less a 3% processing fee.
Are these drop off classes?
A parent or guardian must be present at all times during class…NO EXCEPTIONS!
What do children need to bring with them to class?
Sneakers, water and a snack, in addition to a size 3 or 4 soccer ball (soccer class), mouth guard, (lacrosse class) and baseball glove (baseball class).  Please dress your children appropriately for the weather.
What size should the soccer ball be?

Can we try out?
We do not hold tryouts. Everyone is welcome in the Just For Kids program no matter what his or her ability or experience.
Can we bring our payment and registration form to the field?
All payments need to be made online when you register for a class.
Can we still participate without submitting registration, or payment?
You are more than welcome to try the class after an on-line waiver has been filled out at No one will be allowed to participate without this signed waiver.
How do we know if a class has been cancelled?
The weather hotline (202-813-0985) will be updated 30 minutes before each class.
What if my check has been returned for insufficient funds?
A $35.00 charge will be added to all returned checks.
What if I’m joining the class late? Can you prorate my fee?
We do allow children to register late and we do pro-rate fees for classes missed.  We do not, however, pro-rate fees for classes missed for other reasons.
Can I organize my own class, and how many children should I gather in order to do so?
A minimum of 12 and max of 15 children are needed to start a new class. In addition, a park permit is required and your assistance may be needed in procuring the permit.
What’s the maximum number of participants per class?

The maximum participants per class is 15.


What if we do not have the minimum 10 kids?
We will open up the class for other children to attend.
What’s the minimum age to enroll for classes?
We have classes for children as young as 18 months.
Can I still receive a free T-shirt even though I registered late?
All children get a Just For Kids tee-shirt each season regardless of whether they sign up for class or not.
Can you prorate the cost of my class if I didn’t receive a T-shirt?
The t-shirt is free and we do not pro-rate the cost for not taking one.
Where can my child participate in Just For Kids program?
We offer classes in Arlington, Georgetown, Cleveland Park, Glover Park, Alexandria, Bethesda, Dupont/Logan Circle, and Capitol Hill. Please see our website schedule for our current offerings.
How do I know the locations of the park programs?

Once you register on line a location will be provided.  Just For Kids doesn’t disclose the locations of classes on the website for your children’s safety.

Can I have Just For Kids start a park program near me?

We are happy to start a JFK program anywhere in the DC area.

What can I expect from a Just For Kids session?

JFK offers a safe, fun sporting experience for your child.  Our goal is to prepare your child from the age of two (or younger!) until the time when he or she starts team sports.
